Written steps
Step 1
Magic Write can help you produce a first draft. You still decide the facts and the final wording. We will write an invitation for our fictional community garden day. Start on a blank page in your own practice design. Use information you may share, and keep confidential or personal details out of the request.
Step 2
Open Text in the side panel. Find the Magic Write button, then click Magic Write. The request box opens. Leave Use this design for context off; we provide the facts explicitly. Features and usage limits can depend on your Canva account.
Step 3
Enter a precise request. Ask for a friendly English invitation for neighbours, with a maximum of sixty words and short sentences. Include the place, date, time, activities and what people should bring. Tell Canva not to invent an address, price, registration or refreshments. A clear request gives you something concrete to check.
Step 4
Read the request again. Click Generate and wait for the answer. Your result may differ from this example, even with the same request. Treat it as a draft. Confident wording does not establish that an event detail is correct, and a short response can still include an unsupported promise.
Step 5
Compare the draft with your facts: Community Garden, Saturday the fifteenth of May, twenty twenty-seven, from ten until one. We will plant herbs and make signs. People should bring gloves and water. Everyone is welcome. Check dates, activities and any extra claims. Also consider whether decorative symbols and extra greetings help the reader.
Step 6
Once you have checked the draft, click Insert. Canva adds an editable text element to the blank page. Inspect its size and line breaks. Inserting the response does not verify it or turn it into a finished layout. You can now revise the text using the same text controls as any other Canva element.
Step 7
Double-click the inserted text and select its contents. Replace it with a shorter invitation using the verified facts. Keep the date, time, place, activities and what to bring. Remove unnecessary greetings and slogans. Press Escape when finished. Check that shortening the text has not removed anything the reader needs.
Step 8
Read the finished invitation as a neighbour. Is it clear what will happen, where and when, and what to bring? Check spelling, line breaks and readable text size. Try your own precise request, review the answer, and make a deliberate edit. Use AI to support your writing while keeping control of the content.
What you need
Open a blank page in your own practice design. Use fictional facts and check that Magic Write is available with your account. The recording shows the English interface.
