Written steps
Step 1
Select the heading and open the font selector in the text toolbar. Search for Montserrat, choose the exact font result, and close the panel.
Step 2
Set the heading size to 80 and confirm with Enter. Keep Bold enabled. This value suits the demonstrated 1920×1080 presentation; other formats and headings may need a different size.
Step 3
Select the date and place block. Open the font selector, search for Open Sans and apply it. Close the panel. The explanation also uses Open Sans, leaving two font families in this example.
Step 4
Double-click the explanation. Put the activities, what guests should bring, and Everyone is welcome. on three separate lines. Press Escape and use the alignment control to change the centred text to left aligned.
Step 5
Open Advanced settings. Keep letter spacing at zero. Select the Line spacing value, enter 1.6 and confirm with Enter. Close the settings and select the page thumbnail to inspect the whole design.
Step 6
Check that the heading stands out, the date and location are easy to find, and the explanation is readable. Change one setting at a time so you can compare the effect.

Good typography helps readers find the important information. We will use the invitation from the text lesson. The heading should stand out, the date and place should be easy to find, and the longer explanation should feel calm. We will change fonts, size, line breaks, and spacing while keeping the event details correct. Click once on the heading Community garden day. Then click the font name in the toolbar. Here, it is Canva Sans. In the search field, type Montserrat. Wait for the result, then choose Montserrat. Close the font panel. A simple font helps us give the invitation a consistent appearance. The heading is still selected. Click the font size. Enter eighty and press Enter. This size is suitable for our page; it is not a rule for every design. Also check the Bold button. It is already enabled, so we will keep it. The entire heading should fit comfortably within the page. Select the date and place text. Open the font selector. Search for Open Sans, then choose Open Sans from the results. Close the font panel. We will use this font for the practical details and the explanation, and Montserrat for the heading. Keeping a small set of fonts helps the page feel consistent. Double-click the explanation at the bottom. Divide it into three short lines: what we will do, what guests should bring, and that everyone is welcome. Write each point on its own line. Press Escape. Then click the text alignment button. Our text changes from centred to left aligned. A shared left edge makes the lines easier to follow. The explanation is still selected. Click Advanced settings. Here you can adjust letter spacing and line spacing. Leave letter spacing at zero. Select the Line spacing value. Enter one point six and press Enter. This adds some space between the lines. Close Advanced settings, then select the page thumbnail to see the result without text selection. The invitation now has a clear heading and a calm explanation with short lines. We use Montserrat for the heading and Open Sans for the other text. Check the whole page. Can readers quickly find the date, place, and practical details? Try changing one thing at a time and compare the results. Keep the version that is easiest to read.
