Written steps
Step 1
Create a blank Whiteboard and give it a recognizable title. This practice board contains only our three notes and two arrows.
Step 2
Open Tools, choose Sticky notes, and click the yellow note. Write Plant herbs. Use one short action per note.
Step 3
Press Escape to stop editing text. Drag the note to the left to leave room for the rest of the plan.
Step 4
Click Place to the right, the plus on the right edge of the selected note. Type Water the plants and press Escape. Repeat for Collect the tools. This plus adds a note, not a connector.
Step 5
Open Lines and choose the straight line. Drag the selected line's start and end handles to the edges of the first and second notes.
Step 6
Choose Line end and Arrow. Duplicate it and reposition both handles between the second and third notes. Check the actual endpoints, not just the middle of the line.
Step 7
With the canvas focused, press Control A to select this exercise's five elements. Click Group and use arrow keys to move them together. Ungroup separates the elements again. Use selective marking on larger boards.
Step 8
Read the sequence from left to right and explain what each connection means. Our optional note author labels are hidden; on your own note, More > Remove name hides its label.
What you need
Prepare a few activities to arrange in a Canva Whiteboard. The recording shows the English interface.

A whiteboard helps you turn ideas into a plan. We will use three sticky notes for the garden day. The arrows show the order: plant the herbs, water the plants, and then collect the tools. Keep one short action on each note. Start with a blank Whiteboard from Create a design. Click Tools. Choose Sticky notes. Click the yellow note. Type Plant herbs. One idea on each note makes the plan easier to scan. Our practice notes have their optional author names hidden. Press Escape to finish editing the text. Drag the note to the left. Leave room for two more activities and for the arrows between them. Keep the notes far enough apart that their text and connections remain easy to distinguish. Click the plus to the right of the note. Type Water the plants and press Escape. Click the plus to the right again. Type Collect the tools and press Escape. The three activities now form a row. The plus creates a new note; it does not add an arrow. Click Lines. Choose the straight line. The new line is selected. Drag its start point to the right edge of the first note. Drag its end point to the left edge of the second note. Check both ends: the line must connect the tasks you actually mean. Click Line end. Choose Arrow. Now the connection has a direction. Click Duplicate. Drag the copied start point to the right edge of the second note. Drag the copied end point to the left edge of the third note. In this plan, each arrow means: do this task before the next one. With the canvas focused, press Control A to select these five elements. Click Group. Press the right arrow key a few times. The notes and arrows move together. Use Ungroup when you need to separate them again. On a larger board, select only the items you want to group. Read the plan from left to right. Is each action clear, and does the order make sense? Group related ideas, explain what the arrows mean, and choose a next step. Try your own three activities and two connections. To hide an optional author label on your own note, use More and Remove name.
