Put your school assignment together in Google Drive
Create a project folder, upload your assignment, and find it again.
Written steps
Create a folder
Have you received an assignment as a PDF? Here you will learn how to gather it in Google Drive and find it again. You must be signed in to the account you use for schoolwork. Here we start in the School Assignments folder. Click New at the top left. Choose New folder to create a folder. Give the folder a name you can recognize. Here I write Birds in the Park. Click Create to create the folder. Double-click Birds in the Park to open the folder.
Upload and check the PDF file
Now the assignment file needs to go into the folder. Click New. Choose File upload. Then the Windows window opens, where you choose a file from the computer. Find the folder on the computer where you saved the file. Here it is in Assignments. Select the PDF you want to upload. Check the name in the File name field. Here it is Birds in the park, assignment. Choose Open to start the upload. Here I use Tab to the button and confirm with Enter. Wait until the upload is finished. The file should now be in the folder you opened in Drive. Double-click the PDF file to check the content. Here is the assignment about birds in the park. We can see the four points the report must include. So this is the right file we saved.
Find the task again
Close the preview with the cross at the top left. Click School assignments in the path at the top. Then we leave the folder with the file. When you need to continue working later, you can find the file with the Search in Drive field. Type the file's name in the search field. Press Enter to see the search results. The search can also find words inside files. Choose Title only if you only want to search in file names. Check both the file name and the folder under Location. Then double-click the correct PDF. Now you have found the assignment again and can continue working. Try it yourself with one of your assignments: Create a folder, upload the file, and find it again. Remember that a file in Drive is not automatically handed in in Classroom.
