0:00 Download the program
Here you go from download to your first read-aloud with IntoWords on Windows. You need a license that gives access to the Windows program, and your own login details.
Open the Vitec MV website. Open the menu at the top right, scroll down to Programs, and expand the item. Then select Download.
On the download page, choose IntoWords. Scroll down until you can see IntoWords Windows.
Click the download arrow next to IntoWords Windows. Wait until the file is downloaded. Then choose Open file in the browser's download list.
1:21 Install IntoWords
The installation window shows the program and the language packs. Here, IntoWords and the Danish and English language packs are selected. The Danish pack gives you Danish voices and language tools.
Read the license terms. If you accept them, tick the box at the bottom and choose Install IntoWords.
Windows asks for permission to install. Check the program and publisher, and select Yes. If your computer requires an administrator code, your school or workplace IT should help you.
Wait while IntoWords and the language packs are installed. We have shortened the waiting time here. Continue when the window shows that the installation is complete.
2:23 Start and log in
Click Start IntoWords. When the program opens, choose Log in.
The browser opens login. Choose the method you have been given access with. Here we use MV-Login. Your school can, for example, use Uni-Login instead.
Write your own username and password, and choose Login. The actual typing is cut out, so the login details are not shown.
When login succeeds, the IntoWords toolbar appears. Now you can try the program on a short text.
3:18 Read your first text
Open a short text you can select. Here we use a message in Notepad about the time and place of a meeting.
Click in the text and press Control and A to select it. IntoWords must read exactly this message.
Click the play button in IntoWords and listen to the message. Follow the words as they are highlighted.
You have now installed IntoWords, logged in, and heard your first text. The message said Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in room 4.
4:01 Try it yourself
Try it yourself with a short message. Select the text, start reading aloud, and find one important piece of information. Then you are ready to use read-aloud in your own assignments.
The IntoWords toolbar is visible, and you have listened to a selected sentence.
